Question 1

Is a Quackr ID number a VoIP number?

Accepted Answer

No. Quackr ID numbers are real mobile numbers, not VoIP, so services that refuse virtual numbers still send you the code.

Question 2

Which apps and services work with Quackr ID numbers?

Accepted Answer

All of them. Any app or website that sends verification codes by SMS reaches your Quackr ID number, including the ones that block VoIP numbers.

Question 3

Can I use my Quackr ID number for SMS verification and two-factor codes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sign-up codes, login codes and two-factor texts arrive in your dashboard within seconds, and the browser extension can fill them in for you.

Question 4

Why didn't my verification code arrive?

Accepted Answer

Usually it's on the sending side: a typo in the number, a pause after too many resend requests, or the service already linking that number to another account.

Question 5

Is the number mine to keep?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for as long as you subscribe. It renews with your plan, nobody else can use it, and it doesn't expire after a week like a burner number.

Question 6

What happens to my number if I cancel?

Accepted Answer

You keep it until the end of the period you've already paid for. After that it goes back to the carrier and can't be recovered.

Question 7

Which countries can my Quackr ID number be from?

Accepted Answer

The United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia or Hong Kong. You pick the country when you claim the number, and it works from anywhere.

Question 8

Does my number work if I live outside the US or I'm travelling?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You read your texts online in the dashboard, the Android app or the browser extension, so they reach you wherever you are.

Question 9

Can I make calls or send texts from my Quackr ID number?

Accepted Answer

No. The number receives texts and verification codes. It doesn't make calls or send messages.

Question 10

Why don't I have a number during the free trial?

Accepted Answer

The private number unlocks with your first payment. Everything else works during the 7-day trial, and you can end the trial early to get the number straight away.

Question 11

A service says my number is already in use. What can I do?

Accepted Answer

Mobile numbers get reissued by carriers over time, so a service may still link yours to an older account. Tell us, and we can usually move you to a different number.

Question 12

Can I have more than one number?

Accepted Answer

Each Quackr ID includes one private number, shared by all your identities. Alias emails and cards are separate for every account, so one number covers most people.

Question 13

How do alias emails work?

Accepted Answer

Every identity gets its own @quackr.id address. Mail sent to it forwards to your real inbox and shows in your dashboard, and the service never learns your real email.

Question 14

What should I do when an alias starts getting spam?

Accepted Answer

You already know who leaked it, because that address only ever went to one service. Mute the alias or rotate it to a new address, and the spam stops without touching your real inbox.

Question 15

Will websites accept a @quackr.id email address?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It's a normal, deliverable address on a domain we own, so sign-up forms and verification emails work the same as they do with any other email.

Question 16

How do Quackr ID virtual cards work?

Accepted Answer

They're prepaid virtual cards you load from your card wallet, so a merchant can only ever charge what you've put on that card.

Question 17

Why was my virtual card declined?

Accepted Answer

Usually because the card didn't hold enough for the charge, it was paused, or the merchant doesn't take prepaid cards.

Question 18

Why can't I create a virtual card yet?

Accepted Answer

Cards unlock once your plan is paid and your account has a password. During the free trial, or before you've secured your account, the Cards page stays locked.

Question 19

Does Quackr ID include a password manager?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every plan includes a zero-knowledge password manager with Chrome and Firefox extensions, autofill, a password generator and an Android app, at no extra cost.

Question 20

Privacy.com vs MySudo vs Quackr ID: which one includes a password manager?

Accepted Answer

Only Quackr ID includes one today. Privacy.com is a virtual card service without a password manager, and MySudo lists its password manager as coming soon.

Question 21

Can Quackr see my passwords?

Accepted Answer

No. Your vault is encrypted on your device with a master password we never receive, using the open-source, independently audited Passbolt engine.

Question 22

I forgot my master password. Can you reset it?

Accepted Answer

We can't, because we never have it. You get back in with your recovery kit: the recovery file you saved, or your 12 recovery words.

Question 23

Can I import passwords from 1Password, LastPass, Bitwarden or my browser?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Export a CSV file from your old password manager or browser and import it through the Quackr ID extension.

Question 24

Can I share a login or 2FA code without giving away the password?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Circles let people you invite use a shared login or 2FA code without ever seeing the password or the secret behind it.

Question 25

How much does Quackr ID cost?

Accepted Answer

$9.99 a month or $79 a year, which works out to about $6.58 a month. One plan includes everything: the number, alias emails, cards, password manager and shared 2FA.

Question 26

How does the free trial work?

Accepted Answer

You get 7 days for $0 with a card on file. The password manager, alias emails and extension work straight away, and the private number and cards unlock with your first payment.

Question 27

How do I cancel Quackr ID?

Accepted Answer

Open Billing in your dashboard and choose Cancel plan, or Cancel trial if you're still on your free trial. You keep everything until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.

Question 28

How can I pay for Quackr ID?

Accepted Answer

By debit or credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link or Amazon Pay.

Question 29

How do I delete my Quackr ID account?

Accepted Answer

Open Settings in your dashboard, or in the Quackr ID app, and choose Delete account.

Question 30

How do I get a phone number and email that work together for my online accounts?

Accepted Answer

Use one service that does both. Quackr ID gives each account its own masked email and virtual card, and they work together with one private, non-VoIP mobile number for verification codes.

Question 31

How can I sign up for things without giving my real phone number or credit card?

Accepted Answer

Give each service a Quackr ID identity instead: your private non-VoIP number for codes, a masked alias email, and a virtual card that can only spend what you load onto it.

Question 32

What is an identity in Quackr ID?

Accepted Answer

An identity is one service's set of details: its own alias email, its own virtual card and its saved login, all using your private number for codes.

Question 33

How is Quackr ID different from a burner number app?

Accepted Answer

A burner is built to be thrown away. Quackr ID is built to keep: the number renews with your plan and comes with the alias emails, cards and password manager you'd otherwise juggle in separate apps.

Question 34

Is Quackr ID the same as Quackr's free temporary numbers?

Accepted Answer

No. The free numbers on quackr.io are shared and public, made for quick one-off codes. A Quackr ID number is private to you and stays yours while you subscribe.

Question 35

Can anyone else see the texts sent to my number?

Accepted Answer

No other Quackr user can. Your number is assigned only to your account, and its messages show only when you are signed in.
