How can I sign up for things without giving my real phone number or credit card?
Short answer
Give each service a Quackr ID identity instead: your private non-VoIP number for codes, a masked alias email, and a virtual card that can only spend what you load onto it.
A sign-up form asks for three things that identify you everywhere: your phone number, your email and your card. Once a company has them, they sit in its database for good, and in its breach if it ever has one.
What replaces each one
- Phone number: your Quackr ID number. It's a real mobile number, not VoIP, so the code arrives even on sites that reject virtual numbers.
- Email: a masked @quackr.id alias for that service, forwarded to your real inbox.
- Card: a virtual card instead of your credit card. Load what you need, and pause it when you're done.
If one of those services leaks, what gets out is an alias, a capped card and a number that isn't your personal one. Keep your real details for the few places that legally need your identity, like tax and government services.
